Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Emmanuel Lions in the final game of the four game series in a 14-8 final score.
The Warriors recorded 13 hits in the final game of the series.
Tanner Glass and
Josh Galloway led the team with three hits apiece.
Parker Pillsbury and
Sean Sutay both doubled, and Glass hit a home run during the game. Glass and
Sawyer Price each had two RBIs. The Warriors walked twice and
Ty King Richards stole a base.
Aaron Bennett started the final game of the series as he pitched seven innings while striking out three.
Vinny Adams and
Ryan Moore both pitched in relief for Southern Wesleyan. Moore closed out the game, striking out three over two innings.

How It Happened
Emmanuel scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning, but Southern Wesleyan countered in the bottom of the first to take the lead. With two out,
Josh Galloway singled and then advanced to second on a single by
Tanner Glass.
Parker Pillsbury doubled down the left field line to bring Galloway in to score and tie the game 1-1. With both base runners in scoring position,
Sawyer Price singled up the middle to bring both in to score and give the Warriors a 3-1 run advantage.
The Lions countered in the top of the second to bring five runs in and put them back on top 6-3. The Warriors were not discouraged as they challenged once again in the bottom of the second.
Ty King Richards led off with a single and then advanced to third on
Sean Sutay's double down the left field line. A passed ball allowed King Richards to score.
DJ Ludwick grounded out to short stop, but Sutay came in to score on the play to put Southern Wesleyan down 5-6.
Southern Wesleyan tied the game up in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Ty King Richards singled and then advanced to second on an error by the pitcher. King Richards then stole third base to come to within ninety feet of home plate. With two outs,
Chance Fogel singled up the middle to bring King Richards home and tie the game 6-6.
Emmanuel would not stay silent as they regained the lead in the top of the fifth inning, and then pushed to an 8-6 run lead in the top of the seventh.
The Warriors maintained the pressure in the bottom of the seventh as
Josh Galloway singled. With one on and one out,
Tanner Glass homered over the left field wall to allow Southern Wesleyan to tie the game 8-8.
The Lions continued to battle the Warriors pitchers as they scored six runs in the top of the eighth to win the game 14-8.
What's Next
The Warriors will next host the Erskine Flying Fleet on March 26 and 27. They will conclude the series on March 30. Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on April 2-3 as they welcome the Chowan Hawks to Dr. C Keith Connor Field.
