How It Happened

Erskine charged out of the gate as Dennis Cole scored the first goal of the game off a pass from Carlos Portas to put the Flying Fleet on top 1-0.  The Flying Fleet continued to attack the net, but Brandon Trimby and the Warrior defense kept getting in the way of the shots to keep Erskine from extending their lead further.  However, Erskine would not let up, scoring four straight goals to put them on top 5-0 after the first fifteen minutes of play.  Despite shots by Will Hughes and Tyler Zoucha, the Warriors trailed 5-0 at the half.

The Flying Fleet kicked off the second half with a goal by Tyler Nichols and then pushed further as Tim Boeckstaens scored to put Erskine on top 7-0.  The Warriors were not discouraged as they continued to attack and drive the ball to the net as both Caden DeFronzo and Hughes took shots on the goal, but neither shot landed.  Trailing the Flying Fleet 9-0, the Warriors maintained the pressure with four consecutive shots on goal by Jose Rangel, Diego Hernandez, and Zachary Hurst.  However, in the end the Warriors fell to the Flying Fleet 9-0.
