How It Happened
Maria Aspasia Kotsiou won the lone singles match for the Warriors. The freshman defeated Rosie Harfield 6-2 and 6-1.
Ameek Batth challenged Judit Gonzalez in her singles match, forcing the match to go to three. However, Batth fell to Gonzalez 7-6 in the final set of the match.
Natalie White challenged Rebecca Gibbons in her match up, forcing it to go to three sets. White dropped the first before winning the second to take it to a third. However, she fell 6-3 in the final set.
Lydia Kovats joined her teammates in the challenge, as she forced a third set against Meredith Ware to determine a winner. Dropping the first set, Kovats won the second before falling in the final 10-7.
In doubles action,
Ameek Batth and
Maria Aspasia Kotsiou challenged Judit Gonzalez Agud and Elisa Aguirre before falling in 6-2 final.
Anya King and
Noemi Aguirre fell to Amy Griffiths and Rosie Harfield 6-0, and
Natalie White and
Camille Cunningham fell to Rebecca Gibbons and Meredith Ware 6-0.
What's Next
The Warriors will host their home opener on February 11 as they welcome the Limestone Saints to the Rev Leroy C Cox Tennis Complex at 2 p.m. They will then travel to Milledgeville, GA to take on Georgia College on February 12.
