How It Happened

Game One
Southern Wesleyan kept Mount Olive off the board until the top of the fourth inning.  Tolston and Smith hit home runs over the right field run to put the Trojans on top 2-0.  They went on to extend their lead by one more run before a ground out ended the inning.  Mount Olive extended their lead once again in the top of the fifth inning.

Southern Wesleyan would not go down without a fight as they struck in the bottom of the fifth inning.  With one out, Ty King Richards singled up the middle and then advanced to second on a walk to DJ Ludwick.  A passed ball allowed both runners to advance a base and come to within scoring position.  Tanner Glass followed with a single to left field to drive in both Ludwick and King Richards and put the Warriors down 4-2.

The Warriors struck again in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Hunter Garlington led off with a single to center field.  Dawson Gilstrap came in to pinch run for Garlington and then advanced to second base on a balk by the Trojans' pitcher.  Josh Galloway singled to third base to put two runners on and bring Sean Sutay up to bat.  Sutay put down a bunt single to load up the bases.  With two out, a walk to Tanner Glass allowed Gilstrap to come and score to put the Warriors within one.

Mount Olive attacked once more in the top of the seventh inning to win the game in a 5-3 final score.

Game Two
