Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan dropped both games in the Saturday doubleheader against the University of Mount Olive Trojans in 11-3 and 4-0 final scores.
The Warriors recorded three hits and six walked during the first game of the afternoon.
Zach O'Malley and
Tanner Glass had the lone RBIs during the game. Both
DJ Ludwick and
Josh Galloway stole bases. Southern Wesleyan struck out six batters during the game with both
Ryan Moore and
Aaron Wimpey leading the team with two strikeouts.
Southern Wesleyan had three hits in the second game of the day.
Tanner Glass was the lone Warrior to walk, and
Angelo Pahila was hit by a pitch.
Devyn Bond started game two for the Warriors, striking out five batters.
Josh Henshaw and
TJ McEvilly pitched in relief for the Warriors, striking out two while allowing only two hits.

How It Happened
Game One
Mount Olive took the first run of the game as they brought two runners in to score in the top of the first inning. They extended their lead to 6-0 in the top of the sixth innings. The Trojans were not done there, plating two more runs in the top of the third inning.
Southern Wesleyan countered in the bottom of the third inning. With two out,
DJ Ludwick singled and then advanced to second as
Josh Galloway reached first base on an error.
Tanner Glass singled to left field to bring Ludwick in to score and put the Warriors down 9-1.
The Trojans maintained the offensive as they scored again in the top of the fourth and fifth innings to push their lead to 11-1.
Southern Wesleyan challenged in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Nolan Steevens led off with a walk and then advanced to second as
Juan Garcia also walked. A third walk in the inning to
Will Pitts loaded up the bases for
Zach O'Malley. O'Malley was the fourth batter to walk during the inning to bring in the Warriors' second run of the game in.
Dawson Gilstrap grounded into a double play that brought Garcia in for the Warriors last run of the game as they fell in a 11-3 final.
Game Two
The University of Mount Olive struck first in the top of the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Baughan to bring McLean in score. The Trojans attacked again in the third and fourth innings. However, the Warriors kept them off the board again until the eighth inning. Southern Wesleyan challenged with several runners left on base, but Mount Olive won game two 4-0.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will wrap up the series against the University of Mount Olive on February 28 at noon and 3 p.m. They will then travel to Belmont, NC for a four game series against the Belmont Abbey Crusaders on March 5-6. The Warriors will remain on the road on March 12 and 13 as they travel to North Greenville to take on the Crusaders.
