Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan took down the Montreat Cavaliers in a 4-3 final to claim their third victory of the spring 2021 season.

How It Happened

In doubles play, the Montreat Cavaliers took two of the three matches.  However, Sarvesh Maria and Enzo Marcheschi took down the Cavaliers team of Ryan Little and Luigi Moretti in a 6-1 final for the Warriors lone doubles victory.

Jonas Grasmuck took the first singles match for the Warriors, taking down Mohamed Braham in 6-2 and 6-2 finals.  Sarvesh Maria took the second singles victory as Maria took down Luigi Moretti in 6-2,4-6 and 6-4 scores to put the Warriors ahead 2-1.  However, Montreat countered to take the next two singles matches.  However, Julio Lopes Polesi and Fabian Segreda forced each of their singles matches to three and then take the victory in the final set.  Their singles victory allowed the Warriors to win the match in a 4-3 final.

 
What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on February 27 as they welcome the Young Harris Mountain Lions to Central, SC at 4 p.m.  They will then travel to Milledgeville, GA on March 3 to take on Georgia College.  The Warriors will then return to Central, SC on March 11 to welcome the Anderson Trojans to Rev Leroy C Cox.
