Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan defeated the Erskine Flying Fleet in the final regular season game of the season in an 88-60 final score.
The Warriors shot 57.1% from the field and went 51.9% from beyond the three point line. Six Warriors recorded double digits during the game with
Demarcus Addie leading the team with 16.

Hunter Davis (10) and
Quinian Rieves (10) also posted double digits during the game. Southern Wesleyan collected 19 assists with Addie and Dunlap each recording four.
Southern Wesleyan recorded 31 rebounds throughout the game. Dunlap led the team with seven rebounds on the night. Both Addie and Davis followed with five rebounds apiece. Addie collected two blocks during the game while Dunlap posted two steals.

How It Happened
Erskine took the first points of the evening on a jump shot by Justin Morton, but Southern Wesleyan quickly countered as
Hunter Davis passed the ball to
Tranard Ferrell who laid it up to tie the game. The Flying Fleet regained the lead, but a layup by Davis on a fast break allowed the Warriors to take a 5-4 point advantage. Morton sunk a three, but the Warriors would not let up their attacks as they tied the game 8-8 on a three point shot by
Jalen Lowery. Back-to-back three pointers by
Jacob Smith and
Demarcus Addie put the Warriors on top 14-10 with just over eleven minutes left in the first half. Erskine fought back, coming to within one on a layup by Caleb Shackleford. Southern Wesleyan continued to shut down Erskine as
Ta'Jay Dunlap laid the ball up to put them on top 27-18. The Warriors shut down the Fleet, going on a ten point run before a jump shot by Sterling Benjamin put Erskine behind Southern Wesleyan 20-37. A last second three by Addie allowed the Warriors to take a 41-24 point lead at the end of the first half.
Dunlap kicked off the second half with a three pointer to give the Warriors a twenty point lead. Erskine countered on a three pointer by Morton. However, a three pointer by
Arusha Hunter allowed the Warriors to extend their lead to 48-27. Southern Wesleyan pushed to a twenty-five point lead on layups by Dunlap and Addie. Erskine scored back-to-back lay-ups to stay within twenty-one, but a layup by
Tranard Ferrell put the Warriors back on top by twenty-five. Back-to-back three pointers by Smith and Addie allowed the Warriors to extend their lead further, but a layup by Emandi Brooks put the Flying Fleet down 35-64. Erskine fought back, but Southern Wesleyan countered their every shot with a basket of their own. Late baskets by
Quinian Rieves allowed the Warriors to win the game 88-60.

Southern Wesleyan will advance to the Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals on March 2 and will be one of the host institutions for the first round of competition.
