Virginia Beach, VA – Southern Wesleyan competed in the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track and Field Championship on Monday, finishing the competition in third place behind UNC Pembroke and the University of Mount Olive.

Track Results
60 Meter Dash: In the preliminaries of the 60 Meter Dash,
Carrie Barton finished in seventh place with a time of 7.96 to advance to the finals. In the finals, Barton finished with a time of 7.98 to put her in fifth.
200 Meters:
Michele Beugre led the Warriors in the 200 Meters, taking second place with a time of 24.88. Beugre was followed by teammate
Carrie Barton in ninth with a time of 26.44.
400 Meters: In the 400 Meters,
Michele Beugre finished in second place with a time of 58.16. She was followed by
Carmen DeVries in ninth with a time of 1:00.74 and
Lauryn Tate in 12
th with a time of 1:04.08.
800 Meters:
Taylor Broadwell led the Warriors in the 800 Meters as she finished in sixth with a time of 2:28.92. She was followed by
Lycia Zavala and
Sydney Palmer. Zavala took ninth with a time of 2:32.46 and Palmer finished in 11
th with a time of 2:34.61.
Mile: Freshman
Macey Morgan led the whole field in the Women's Mile. Morgan finished with a time of 5:31.31 to put her in first place. Right behind her,
Madison Lewellen finished in third with a time of 5:34.38. Senior
Kyra Hood took seventh with a time of 5:44.33.
3000 Meters: In the 300 Meters,
Macey Morgan finished in fifth place with a time of 11:10.21. Teammates
Kyra Hood and
Madison Lewellen were right behind her. Hood took eighth with a time of 11:34.67 and Lewellen finished in ninth with a time of 11:35.99. Freshman
Abbey Frock finished in 11
th place with a time of 11:53.93.
Distance Medley Relay: The Distance Medley Relay team of
Abbey Frock,
Taylor Broadwell,
Keyanna Williams and
Sydney Palmer finished in second place with a time of 13:34.66.
4x400 Meter Relay: The Women's 4x400 Meter Relay team of
Keyanna Williams,
Carrie Barton, Carmen Devries and
Michele Beugre claimed All-Conference First Team Honors as they finished in first place with a time of 4:01.18.

Pole Vault: Senior
Haley McLaughlin claimed first place in the Pole Vault as she vaulted a height of 3.16 meters.
Long Jump: In the Long Jump, Blessing Laudermilich finished in sixth with a time of 5.23 meters.
Triple Jump: Blessing Laudermilich led the Warriors in the Triple Jump, finishing in third with a jump of 11.02 meters. She was followed by
Tierra Johnson in 13
th with a distance of 10.05 meters.
Weight Throw:
Kelsie Smith finished in sixth in the Weight Throw with a throw of 14.34 meters.
Shot Put: Senior
Kelsie Smith led the Warriors in the Shot Put as she threw a distance of 11.25 meters to put her in a fifth place finish. Smith was followed by
Hannah Johnson in ninth with a throw of 9.96 meters and
Hannah Hall in eleventh with a throw of 9.64 meters.
High Jump: In the High Jump,
Paige Peterson finished in fourth place with a jump of 1.53 meters.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will kick-off the outdoor season on March 6 as they host the Susan Rouse Invitational at the Joe R Gilbert Track and Field Complex in Central, SC. They will then compete in the Weems Baskin Tournament in Columbia, SC on March 26-27.
