Coach Pasqua says…

"Very proud of our team.  Being able to beat two very good teams back-to-back is a testament to them.  I feel like we are getting closer as a group and playing harder."

How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan charged out of the gates within the first few seconds of the game as Arusha Hunter sunk a three pointer off a pass from Ta'Jay Dunlap.  They continued to push ahead on a 3-pointer by Jalen Lowery and layup by Demarcus Addie before a jump shot by Brandon Burford allowed the Bulldogs to come to 8-2 behind the Warriors.  Hunter Davis dunked the ball into the basket to give the Warriors an eight point advantage.  Southern Wesleyan shut down Barton's attacks for the next five minutes of play before a jump shot by Trevon Spencer put the Bulldogs down 6-19.  With just under nine minutes left to play, Hunter sunk a 3-pointer to give Southern Wesleyan a nineteen point lead.  The Warriors continued to distance themselves on threes by Lowery, Hunter and Dunlap to lead the Bulldogs 42-24 at the half.

Barton kicked off the second half with a layup by Spencer.  The Bulldogs continued to challenge with baskets by Isaiah Reddish and Spencer to put them within fifteen points.  A three pointer by Hunter and free throws by Tranard Ferrell kept the Warriors on top 51-38.  Barton countered, but Southern Wesleyan thwarted their attempts to take the lead.  Davis took a pass from Lowery and laid it up to put the Warriors ahead 53-40.  Barton came to within ten, but a layup by Ferrell and a 3-pointer by Addie allowed Southern Wesleyan to push their lead up to seventeen points.  With just over eight minutes left in the half, Davis laid the ball up to give the Warriors a 64-49 point lead.  Addie sunk a jump shot to put the Warriors ahead by twenty-one, however a jump shot by Spencer put the Bulldogs back within nine.  Lowery made a last second three pointer to give the Warriors a 78-59 point victory over the Bulldogs.
