Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan took down the North Greenville Crusaders in an 86-81 final score on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors shot 57.4% from the field and 44% from beyond the three point line in the victory over the Crusaders.
Demarcus Addie led the team with 28 points. He was followed by
Jalen Lowery with 18 points and
Hunter Davis with 17. Addie collected four of the nine assists of the game.
Southern Wesleyan recorded 22 rebounds during the game with Addie leading the team with eight. While both Lowery and
Tranard Ferrell followed with four rebounds each. Addie had the lone block of the game and led the team with two of the three steals.

How It Happened
North Greenville took the first point on a free throw by David Muncy, and then extended it to 3-0 on a layup by Joe Conley. Southern Wesleyan countered on back-to-back layups by
Hunter Davis to put them down 6-4 to the Crusaders. A three point shot by
Arusha Hunter put the Warriors on top by one. The Warriors continued to extend their lead on layups by
Demarcus Addie and Davis. North Greenville came within seven points of the Warriors on a 3-point shot by Jacob Redding, but a 3-pointer by
Jacob Smith allowed Southern Wesleyan to regain a ten point advantage over North Greenville. Addie collected the ball off a rebound by Hunter and took it down the court on a fast break, dunking it into the basket to give the Warriors a 27-14 point advantage with just over nine minutes left in the first half of the game. Southern Wesleyan extended their lead to nineteen points on three point baskets by
Jalen Lowery and Hunter. A three point shot by
Tranard Ferrell gave the Warriors a 43-34 point lead. Free throws by Davis gave Southern Wesleyan a 51-33 point lead at half.
The Crusaders kicked off the second half with a free throw by Christian Kincaid, but the Warriors countered with a layup by Davis to put Southern Wesleyan's lead at 53-34. Layups by CJ Jamison and Joe Conley allowed North Greenville to come to within ten points of Southern Wesleyan. However, the Warriors were not discouraged as Lowery made a three point shot. The Crusaders continued to attack the Warriors defense, knocking down a three point shot by Kameron Hobbs and jump shot by Jalon Cokley to put them down 52-60 to Southern Wesleyan. The Crusaders came within three, but back-to-back three point baskets by Smith put the Warriors back on top by four with just under eight minutes left to play. Addie charged down the court and put up a jump shot to give Southern Wesleyan a 77-71 point lead. North Greenville continued to chip away, but Southern Wesleyan countered all of their attacks. Addie sunk two more baskets to keep the Warriors ahead by four and put the score at 81-77. The Warriors went on to win the game 86-81.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on February 15 as they welcome the Emmanuel College Lions to Central, SC for a 7 p.m. tip-off. The Warriors will then welcome the Chowan Hawks to Central, SC on February 19 at 7 p.m. They will then host the Barton College Bulldogs on February 20.
