Dahlonega, GA – Southern Wesleyan fell to the University of North Georgia Nighthawks on the road on Saturday afternoon in an 80-64 final score.
The Warriors shot 33.3% from the field and went 41.4% from beyond the arc against the Nighthawks.
Demarcus Addie led the Warriors with 15 points. Behind Addie was
Brendan Hoban with 14 points and
Ta'Jay Dunlap with 12. Hoban went on to shoot 57.1% from beyond the arc. Southern Wesleyan posted 13 assists in the loss with
Julian Cameron leading the team with four.
Southern Wesleyan totaled 35 rebounds as a team.
Hunter Davis led the team with eight rebounds. Both
Ta'Jay Dunlap and
Julian Cameron followed behind Davis with four rebounds apiece. The Warriors collected five steals with both Dunlap and Cameron having two.

How It Happened
North Georgia took an early lead as Greg Billups Jr and Kody Shubert sunk back-to-back threes to give them a 6-0 lead. Trailing the Nighthawks by eleven,
Julian Cameron took a pass from
Brendan Hoban outside of the arc and sunk a three to make the score 3-11. The Warriors continued to challenge the Nighthawks attacks as Hoban sunk a three pointer to trail 6-13 with just over fourteen minutes left in the first half. The Nighthawks continued to push ahead as Blake McIntyre sunk a ball from beyond the arc to give North Georgia a 25-8 point advantage.
Hunter Davis laid the ball up to put Southern Wesleyan within fifteen points with just under ten minutes left in the half. North Georgia continued to extend their lead, but a three pointer by
Demarcus Addie put the score at 33-13. The Warriors continued to chip away as Addie sunk a basket from beyond the arc to put Southern Wesleyan within twenty-two of the Nighthawks. Hoban collected the ball once again and stepped outside of the arc to sink another three to put the Warriors within twenty. Despite a late layup by
Demarcus Addie, the Warriors trailed the Nighthawks 45-27 at halftime.
North Georgia kicked off the second half with a layup by Eric Jones to put them back ahead by twenty points. However, Southern Wesleyan countered as
Ta'Jay Dunlap drove the ball to the net for a layup to make the score 47-29. The Warriors battled on as
Demarcus Addie passed the ball over to Dunlap, who sunk the ball into the net from beyond the arc. The Nighthawks countered the Warriors attacks as Jones put up a dunk, but a layup by
Hunter Davis and three pointer by
Brendan Hoban put the Warriors down 57-39 with just over thirteen minutes left to play in the second half.
Ta'Jay Dunlap sunk his second three pointer of the day to put the Warriors within fifteen points of North Georgia. Southern Wesleyan would not relent their attack as
Arusha Hunter made his first three-pointer of the afternoon to make the score 57-45. However, the Nighthawks continued to persist as Zach Brown dunked the ball into the basket. North Georgia regained their twenty point lead, but Southern Wesleyan's
Julian Cameron sunk a three pointer to make the score 76-59. Despite a late three by
Demarcus Addie, the Warriors fell to the Nighthawks 80-64.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will remain on the road on November 30 as they travel to Tigerville, SC to take on the North Greenville Crusaders a 7:30 p.m. They will remain on the road on December 3 as they travel to Spartanburg, SC to take on the Converse Valkyries. The Warriors will then take on the King Tornado on December 11, and the Erskine Flying Fleet on December 15.
