Newberry, SC – Southern Wesleyan dropped their first match of the season to the Newberry Wolves on Friday in a 6-1 final score.

How It Happened

Enzo Marcheschi and Julio Lopes Polesi picked up the lone doubles victory for the Warriors.  Marcheschi and Lopes Polesi defeated the team of Mateo Bivol and Enzo Blavignat in a 6-3 final.  Jonas Grasmuck and Sarvesh Maria challenged in their doubles match, but they fell to Lawrence Friedland and Marcel Schomburg 6-7.  The team of Fabian Segreda and Parker Willis dropped their doubles match 6-3.

In singles play, freshman Parker Willis took the long victory for the Warriors.  Willis defeated Enzo Blavignat 6-4 and 6-3.  Jonas Grasmuck and Fabian Segreda each challenged in their singles match-ups, but neither were able to pass the Wolves.  Sarvesh Maria, Enzo Marcheschi and Julio Lopes Polesi each dropped their singles matches.

Southern Wesleyan will resume action in February to continue in the 2021-22 season.
