How It Happened

The Lions charged out of the gate as they scored within the first thirty seconds off the foot of Cian Walder to put them on top 1-0.  Emmanuel continued to challenge the Warriors defense as Caleb Watson took a shot on the goal, but Bryson Dodd saved the ball from reaching the back of the net to keep the Lions from extending their lead.  The Warriors challenged back as both Tipton Wright and Jose Rangel took shots on the goal, but Rodrigo De La Terga and the Lions defense saved the attacks to keep Southern Wesleyan from cutting into their lead.  Despite shots by Feren Nunez and Ryan Rodriguez, the Warriors trailed the Lions 1-0 at the half.

Southern Wesleyan led off the second half with a shot by Jose Rangel, but the Lions would not let the attack pay off as De La Terga saved the ball.  The Warriors kept up their attacks as Hykeem Martin took shots on the goal, but his attacks were thwarted each time.  Emmanuel stepped up the intensity as Kahliel Frierson put the ball into the net to give the Lions a 2-0 advantage.  Southern Wesleyan countered with shots by Pedro Fonseca and Tipton Wright, but Emmanuel would not let the attack pay off as they went on to win the game in a 2-0 final.
