Franklin Springs, GA – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Emmanuel Lions on Tuesday evening in a 2-0 final score.
The Warriors collected twelve shots and three shots on goal against the Lions.
Tipton Wright led the team with three shots with both
Jose Rangel and
Hykeem Martin following with two shots. Rangel recorded two shots on goal.
Bryson Dodd played all ninety minutes in goal for Southern Wesleyan, collecting seven saves.

How It Happened
The Lions charged out of the gate as they scored within the first thirty seconds off the foot of Cian Walder to put them on top 1-0. Emmanuel continued to challenge the Warriors defense as Caleb Watson took a shot on the goal, but
Bryson Dodd saved the ball from reaching the back of the net to keep the Lions from extending their lead. The Warriors challenged back as both
Tipton Wright and
Jose Rangel took shots on the goal, but Rodrigo De La Terga and the Lions defense saved the attacks to keep Southern Wesleyan from cutting into their lead. Despite shots by
Feren Nunez and
Ryan Rodriguez, the Warriors trailed the Lions 1-0 at the half.
Southern Wesleyan led off the second half with a shot by
Jose Rangel, but the Lions would not let the attack pay off as De La Terga saved the ball. The Warriors kept up their attacks as
Hykeem Martin took shots on the goal, but his attacks were thwarted each time. Emmanuel stepped up the intensity as Kahliel Frierson put the ball into the net to give the Lions a 2-0 advantage. Southern Wesleyan countered with shots by
Pedro Fonseca and
Tipton Wright, but Emmanuel would not let the attack pay off as they went on to win the game in a 2-0 final.
What's Next
The Warriors will return to Childs Field on October 23 as they host the USC Union Bantams for an exhibition game. The Warriors will host senior night during the game. Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on October 27 as they welcome the Belmont Abbey Crusaders to Childs Field for a 7:30 p.m. game. They will wrap up the regular season on October 30 as they take on the Lees-McRae Bobcats in Banner Elk, NC.
