How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan attacked early as Cayla Hughes took a shot, but it went wide right.  However, North Greenville countered with several attacks of their own off the feet of Megan Biehl and Camryn Pagliaro, but the Warriors defense stayed strong.  Biehl and Emma Shearer each took shots on goal, but Taylor Hanzel saved the attacks to keep the game tied 0-0.  The Crusaders scored the first goal of the game off the foot of Faith Knoedler to give North Greenville a 1-0 advantage.  North Greenville extended their lead minutes later as Kayla Cruise scored to give the Crusaders a 2-0 lead.  Despite a late shot on goal by Grace Williams that Lizzy Luzzi saved, the Warriors trailed the Crusaders 2-0 at half.

The Crusaders pushed forward as a foul in the box resulted in a penalty kick.  Faith Knoedler took the penalty kick to score the third goal of the game for North Greenville.  Southern Wesleyan countered as both Joy Namyst and Hope Robson took shots on the goal, but Luzzi saved the ball to keep the Warriors from cutting into their lead.  Despite trailing the Crusaders, the Warriors continued to push forward with shots by Jenny Arenas, Hayleigh Von Ins and Leslie Lagos.  However, Southern Wesleyan fell to North Greenville in a 5-0 final score in the end.
