The Warriors collected 15 kills in the loss to the Valkyries.
Amber Bass and
Emily Ellis both had six kills in the game. Of the 15 assists,
Ashley Sexton had six with
Kali Letcher following with five.
Cara Martin and
Jarena Byers each had an ace. Of the two blocks Southern Wesleyan had during the game,
Riley Young was involved in both.
Jesse Soles led the team with 11 of the 42 digs.

How It Happened
Set One
Converse took an early lead off kills by Jasmine Finkley, before a kill by
Amber Bass put Southern Wesleyan on the board. The Valkyries continued to push ahead with kills by Maddie Mount and Kiara Cannon. Southern Wesleyan put down kills by Bass and
Riley Young, but Converse went on to win the first set 25-10.
Set Two
The Warriors took the first point of the set on a assisted block by
Riley Young and
Trinity Eichman, but the Valkyries countered with kills by Anna Rabon and Jasmine Finkley to give Converse a lead. Despite trailing the Valkyries, the Warriors continued to fight back with kills by
Kailey Demorest and
Amber Bass. Converse did not let up their attacks as Finkley put down more kills to allow the Valkyries to push their lead further. Both Young and
Emily Ellis delivered kills, but Converse went on to win 25-8.
Set Three
Southern Wesleyan took the lead in the third set on attack errors by the Valkyries. Back-to-back kills by
Emily Ellis allowed the Warriors to push their lead further, however aces by Anna Rabon allowed the Valkyries to counter Southern Wesleyan's attacks. An ace by
Cara Martin and a block by
Riley Young kept the Warriors and Valkyries locked in a tight battle. The Valkyries did not let up as Jasmine Finkley laid down several kills to push Converse ahead. Despite kills by
Emily Ellis, Southern Wesleyan dropped the final set 25-18.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Bristol, TN on October 2 as they take on the King Tornado at 2 p.m. The Warriors will return to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium on October 5 as they host the Erskine College Flying Fleet at 7 p.m. They will then travel to the University of Mount Olive Trojans on October 8 and the UNC Pembroke Braves on October 9.
