Conference Carolinas Announces 2019-20 Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams and Major Awards

Greenville, S.C. - Conference Carolinas announced the 2019-20 Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams and Awards on March 6. Clenzo Ross was named to the All-Conference First Team, Ta'Jay Dunlap was named to All-Conference Second Team and Head Coach Nick Pasqua acquired Co-Coach of the Year honors. 

Clenzo Ross, a senior guard from Rock Hill, S.C., earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team. He has posted 492 points with an average of 17.0 points per game so far this season. He recorded a career-high of 35 points against the Barton Bulldogs on January 18. The senior also has 73 assists, 147 rebounds, 22 steals, and one block. The South Carolina native was named Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week on January 13 and has played a vital role in the Warriors success on the court this year. 

As a freshman guard from Columbia, S.C., Ta'Jay Dunlap has caught the eye of Conference Carolinas as he landed on the All-Conference Second Team in his collegiate debut season. Dunlap has recorded 499 points thus far, with an average of 17.2 points per game and 71 assists. His career-high of 31 points would come from the game against the King Tornado on January 2. Ta'Jay has definitely helped with the Warriors offense, but his contributions on defense have also been noticeable. He has posted 137 rebounds, 44 steals, and two blocks and was named Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week on February 3. 

Head Coach Nick Pasqua enters his second season at the helm of the Men's Basketball team. Pasqua has flipped the culture at Southern Wesleyan after a first season overall record of 2-26 (.056) and 1-17 in Conference Carolinas play. After bringing in eight new players with only one freshman and seven transfers, Pasqua posted an overall record of 18-11 (.621) and 13-7 in the 2019-2020 season. In Pasqua's first season, the team averaged 65.1 points per game, 28.6 rebounds per game, 12.6 assists per game, shooting 39.3% from the field, 33.2% from the 3-point line, and 70.7% from the free throw line. So far in the 2019-2020 season, the Warriors have averaged 82.6 points per game, 34.3 rebounds per game, 13.7 assists per game, shooting 46.6% from the field, 35.2% from the 3-point line, and 72.1% from the free throw line. Pasqua has been named Co-Coach of the Year due to his transformation of the program at Southern Wesleyan.
