Murfreesboro, NC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Chowan Hawks in the second round of the Conference Carolinas tournament on Monday evening in a 104-95 final score.
The Warriors shot 53.2% from the field and were 44.4% from the arc in the loss to the Hawks. Jaquay Randolph led the team as he totaled 40 points in the game. He was followed by three other Warriors in double digits. Malachi Cooper had 17 points, Josh Parker had 15 points and Will Little had 10 points. Of the five assists, Parker had five.
Southern Wesleyan totaled 22 rebounds in the game. Jaquay Randolph picked up his final double-double game of the year as he had 10 boards to his name. Valdy Zephir had the Warriors lone block. Randolph stole the ball away from the Hawks four times.

How It Happened
Chowan was quick to get on the board as Markell Hollis hit an early three pointer. The Hawks continued to press as Damien Robinson laid the ball up into the basket. Southern Wesleyan got on the board as Jaquay Randolph put up a layup to keep the Warriors within five points of the Hawks. However, seconds later, Damerius Summers put up a three pointer. The Hawks pressed on as Summers and Hollis got up several more shots to give them a 17-6 point lead over the Warriors with just under sixteen minutes left on the clock. Randolph drove to the basket and laid the ball up and was fouled in the process to earn the and-one basket. Will Little pulled down a defensive rebound and went coast to coast to hit a mid-range shot. With just over eleven minutes on the clock, Eric Gordon Jr hit a three pointer to allow Chowan to extend their lead to 33-14. Josh Parker got up a couple floaters to keep the Warriors within seventeen. Malachi Cooper collected a pass form Parker and knocked down the Warriors' first three pointer of the game. The Warriors clawed their way back as Cooper hit another three pointer to put them within nine. Jamarras McCray laid the ball up into the baskets in the final seconds of the half to put the Warriors behind the Hawks 54-42 going into the locker room.

The Hawks would not back down as Damerius Summers slammed the ball into the basket. Josh Parker knocked down a three pointer to keep the Warriors within twelve points of the Hawks with just under sixteen minutes left on the clock. Jaquay Randolph laid the ball up and was fouled in the process to earn the and-one basket. Israel Powell put up a mid-range, but the Warriors answered as Jamarras McCray laid the ball up. Summers continued to attack the basket as he got up a couple more shots. The Warriors fought back as Josh Parker knocked down another three pointer. With just under five on the clock, Jaquay Randolph got the ball out to Valdy Zephir who hit a wide opener three pointer to keep them within twelve points of the Hawks. Summers went on the attack again as he hit another three pointer, but the Warriors answered with a three pointer out of the hands of Malachi Cooper. Despite a last second three pointer by Cooper, the Warriors fell to the Hawks in a 104-95 final score.
