Erskine Defeats Southern Wesleyan in Close Match

Central, S.C. - Southern Wesleyan challenged, but dropped the match to Erskine in a 5-2 final on Saturday.

How It Happened

The Warriors went 2-1 in doubles action. Paulina Jankun and Neomi Aguirre fell to Luize Valtere and Faith Wright in a 6-1 final. Iva Jankovic and Torrienne Emery defeated Luiza Souza and Eileen Rickert in a 6-4 final. Ashley Dube and Lydia Kovats defeated Grace Coleman and Catalina Santander.

In singles action, the Warriors went 1-5 on Saturday. Iva Jankovic challenged, but fell to Valtere 6-3, 7-6, and 1-6. Paulina Jankun fell to Wright in a 6-2 and 6-3 final. Neomi Aguirre fell to Souza in 6-2 and 6-3 final scores. Torrienne Emery fell to Rickert in a 6-3 and 6-1 final. Ashley Dube fell to Coleman in 6-2 and 6-4 final scores, while Lydia Kovats was able to win her sets in a 6-2 and 6-0 final. 

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will travel to Young Harris to take on the Mountain Lions on March 7 at 12 p.m. They will then travel to Eckerd to take on the Tritons on March 10 at 2 p.m.
