Warriors Defeat Golden Bulls in Road Match

Charlotte, N.C. - Southern Wesleyan defeated the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls in a 5-2 final on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

The Warriors went 1-2 in doubles action. Iva Jankovic and Neomi Aguirre fell to Jada Strickland and Halle Parker in a 6-2 final. Torrienne Emery and Paulina Jankun defeated Nija Price and Taylor Brooks in a 6-4 final. Ashley Dube and Lydia Kovats fell to Aria Springfield and Cierra Turner in a 6-2 final.

In singles action, Southern Wesleyan went 5-1. Iva Jankovic defeated Taylor Brooks 7-5 and 6-1. Neomi Aguirre defeated Jada Strickland 6-3 and 6-3. Paulina Jankun defeated Aria Springfield in 6-4 and 6-0 final scores. Torrienne Emery challenged, but fell to Nija Price 6-3 and 6-4. Ashley Dube defeated Cierra Turner in a 7-5 and 6-3 final and Lydia Kovats defeated Imani Small 6-1 and 6-0.

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan opens Conference Carolinas play on February 25 as they travel to play the Emmanuel College Lions at 2 p.m. They will then travel to Hartsville, S.C. to take on the Cobras of Coker College on February 28 at 2 p.m.
