Warriors Unable to Outlast Crusaders

Central, SC - Southern Wesleyan fell to the North Greenville Crusaders in a 4-3 final on Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened

In doubles action, the Warriors went 2-1. Jennifer Ball and Iva Jankovic clinched the doubles point for the Warriors by defeating Gala Castello and Jhovana Brena in a 6-3 final. Kristi Cooper and Chyna Jones competed well, but fell to Fernanda de Lucca and Lizeth Medina Diaz in a 6-4 final. Alex Golliher and Caitlynn Nixon collected the first win of the match by defeating Bethany Tankersley and Nicole Dalious in a 6-3 final.

The Warriors went 2-4 in singles action on Wednesday afternoon. Jennifer Ball fought hard, but fell to Gala Castello in 7-5, 1-6 and 6-2 final scores. In the second spot, Iva Jankovic fell to Fernanda de Lucca in 6-0, 1-6 and 6-3 final scores. Kristi Cooper fell to Jhovana Brena in final scores of 7-5 and 5-2. In the fourth spot, Chyna Jones fell to Lizeth Medina Diaz in 7-5, 2-6 and 3-0 final scores. Alex Golliher was able to outlast Bethany Tankersley and win in 4-6, 6-1 and 6-4 final scores. Caitlynn Nixon shut down Nicole Dalious in 6-0 and 6-0 final scores.

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan hosts the Limestone Saints on March 30 at 2 p.m. They will then travel to Bristol, TN to play the King Tornado on April 5 at 3 p.m.
