Warriors Take Top 10 Finishes In Several Events In First Meet Of Outdoor Season

Mount Berry, GA – Southern Wesleyan kicked off their outdoor season on February 3 as they competed in the Victor Ice-Breaker Duals hosted by Berry College in Georgia.

 

Track Event Highlights:

200 Meters: In the Women's 200 Meters, Destiny Massey took fifth with a time of 26.26.  A'Miracle Scott followed close behind in 8th with a time of 26.33.  Both ladies times allowed them to qualify for the Conference meet at the end of April.

400 Meters: Senior Amy Barton took first in the 400 Meters with a time of 58.08 to qualify for the Conference meet.

100 Meter Hurdles: Skylar Julian placed first with a time of 14.72.  Julian was followed by teammate Chyna Champbell with a time of 14.77 for second place.

400 Meter Hurdles: In the 400 Meter Hurdles, Jami Lewis took the first place finish with a time of 1:04.19

 

Field Event Highlights:

Pole Vault: Haley McLaughlin took third in the pole vault after jumping a height of 2.77 meters. 

Shot Put: In the shot put, Chyna Cannon took fourth with a throw of 11.21m. 

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will next compete in the 49ers Classic hosted by UNC Charlotte on March 16-17.  They will then split the squad between the Bulls Invitational and the Adidas Winthrop Invitational on March 22-24.
