Winston-Salem, NC - Wake Forest hosted a 32 team Invitational this weekend. The Women of Southern Wesleyan Track and Field represented well. Though not all of the team was in action, many impressive performances were had. Still early in the Indoor Season, the Warriors are battling their way to early success and improvement.
Track Event Highlights:
60m Hurdles: In the preliminaries, Skylar Julian (JR) ran 9.11 seconds to advance to the finals. Julian led all DII competitors and finished 6th out of 33, running 9.12 seconds in the final round.
400m: Another top 5 finish for Jami Lewis in the 400m. Lewis took 5th place and was 1st among DII opponents, beating 52 competitors in total.
Field Event Highlights:
Weight Throw: Kelsie Smith set a new school record for the second weekend in a row. Her throw of 13.80 meters places her 1st in Conference Carolinas.
High Jump: Senior Kiunah Fye set her indoor personal best with a jump of 1.58 meters. This jump was strong enough to put Fye in 4th place for the entire meet.

Southern Wesleyan will next compete in the Liberty Kickoff hosted by Liberty University on January 26-27.
