Cullowhee, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan fell to Western Carolina University in a final of 5-2 on Friday afternoon.

"It was good for us to play a D1 school today because it allowed us to see we can compete with them. Even though the scores don't reflect how close some of the matches we played we know that we did compete with Western Carolina today."

How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan took two of the three doubles matches on Friday afternoon.  Cati Wintrich and Elizabeth Mulkey won theirs by default. Jennifer Ball and Chyna Jones took theirs in a 7-5 final over Western Carolinas Ansai and Riley.

In singles action the Warriors took over the six singles matches when Elizabeth Mulkey won her sets by default.

What's Next

The Warriors will return home on April 18 in their final regular season match of the season as they take on Brewton-Parker at 3 pm.
