How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan played doubles action against the Trojans on Wednesday afternoon. Kristi Cooper and Aimee Dorley threatened, however Delaney Wiggins and Jacqueline Olivia of Anderson University rose above to win 8-4. Alexia Rodriguez and Katherina Wintrich fell to Anderson's Laura Dean and Rebecca Burning 8-2, and Jennifer Ball and Chyna Jones could not compete with Ivey Welborn and Jennifer Holcombe 8-1.
In singles action, the Warriors were kept point less in all six matches. Jennifer Ball won her first match 7-5, but then lost Rebecca Bruning. Kristi Cooper and Katherina Wintrich each threatened in their sets. Copper fell in her singles matches 7-5 and 6-2, Wintrich went on to Anderons' Delaney Wiggins 6-1 and 7-5. The Warriors were unable to win the next few matches as they fell to the Trojans.
What's Next
The Warriors' will next compete on Friday in their Conference Carolinas season opener versus Mount Olive. Southern Wesleyan will then compete on Saturday, February 25 against Barton.
