WILSON, N.C.- Southern Wesleyan's women's tennis team fell 5-4 to Barton.

The Warriors (6-11, 4-4 CC) went 3-3 in singles play and 1-2 in doubles play.

In singles competition, Smiljana Kljajic defeated Aimee Dorley 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 1, Jennifer Ball defeated Vanessa Sanoja 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 at the No. 2, Dana Kelly defeated Tadala Kandulu 6-2, 7-6 at the No. 3, Samantha Powell defeated Whitney Hamilton 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 4, Elizabeth Mulkey defeated Rebecca Lamm 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 5, and Hannah Teasley won at the No. 6 due to a default by Southern Wesleyan.

In doubles competition, Kljajic/Sanoja defeated Dorley/Powell 8-1 at the No. 1, Ball/Kandulu defeated Hamilton/Kelly 8-3 at the No. 2, and Teasley/Utley won at the No. 3 due to a default by Southern Wesleyan.

Southern Wesleyan next travels to Mount Olive tomorrow April 9 for an 11 a.m. match.
