Lions Fall to Warriors

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.- Southern Wesleyan's women's tennis team defeated Emmanuel 5-4.

The Warriors (3-6, 2-0 CC) went 3-3 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles play.

In singles competition, Tadala Kandulu defeated Kaylee Kirby 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 4, Samantha Powell defeated Abi Muesse 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 5, and Elizabeth Mulkey defeated Claudia Morris 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 6. Fantine Botella defeated Aimee Dorley 7-6, 6-3 at the No. 1, Pearllan Cipriano defeated Jennifer Ball 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 2, and Chloe O'Connor defeated Chyna Jones 6-3, 7-5 at the No. 3.

In doubles competition, Dorley/Powell defeated O'Connor/Morris 8-0 at the No. 2 and Mulkey/Kandulu defeated Muesse/Kirby 8-5 at the No. 3. Botella/Cipriano defeated Ball/Jones 8-4 at the No. 1.

Southern Wesleyan next travels to Erskine March 9 for a 2 p.m. match.
