CENTRAL, S.C.- Southern Wesleyan's women's tennis team defeated Belmont Abbey 6-3.
The Warriors (4-7, 3-1 CC) went 4-2 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles play.
In singles competition, Chyna Jones defeated Kiersten Cox 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 3, Tadala Kandulu defeated Brylee Seitz 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 4, Samantha Powell defeated Alex Weber 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 5, and Elizabeth Mulkey defeated Rachele Subik 7-5, 5-7, 10-4 at the No. 6. Teagan McNamara defeated Aimee Dorley 7-6, 6-1 at the No. 1 and Darian DeFrench defeated Jennifer Ball 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 2.
In doubles competition, Ball/Jones defeated McNamara/Mehan 8-4 and Dorley/Powell defeated Seitz/Weber 8-1 at the No. 2. Cox/Subik defeated Kandulu/Mulkey 8-6.
Southern Wesleyan next hosts Lees-McRae March 19 at 11 a.m.
