Falcons Down Warriors on Senior Night

CENTRAL, S.C.- Seniors Kenny Holmes and Jamaral Kearse combined for 37 points in Southern Wesleyan's 76-68 loss to Pfeiffer on Senior Night.

Holmes scored 30 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out three assists. Justice McCullough posted a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. Kearse scored seven points and pulled in three rebounds.

The Warriors (2-26, 1-19 CC) started the game with a 26-19 run to lead by seven points after the first ten minutes of the first half. The Falcons (14-14, 10-10 CC) came back and tied the game at halftime with an 18-11 run.

In the second half, Pfeiffer jumped out to a 50-45 lead after the first five minutes of the half. Southern Wesleyan came back to tie the game at 50-50. They led 60-59 with 6:20 to go after two free throws by Holmes. The Falcons regained the lead with a three-pointer and outscored the Warriors 14-8 to wrap up the victory.

"I am very proud of the team's effort all year long," said Warriors Head Coach Charles Wimphrie, "In spite of the youthfulness and inexperience we never gave up our desire to play hard and to represent our university in a positive way. All eight freshman gained valuable time on the floor and my two seniors gave their best to the younger players on and off the court. I look forward to developing these men physically, academically, and spiritually. It has been an honor to coach them."

Kearse finishes his career with 290 points, 194 rebounds, 81 assists, and 45 steals. Holmes finishes his career with 1,581 points, 407 rebounds, 386 assists, and 128 steals.
