Women's Tennis Falls to Limestone 9-0

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's tennis fell to Limestone 9-0 on Monday in Conference Carolinas action.

SWU was shutout in doubles action as the Saints claimed the third match by default. In No. 1 action the duo of Samantha Powell and Elizabeth Mulkey fell to Alexandra Boulbin and Marian Pinate 8-3. Abbey Coker and Brooke Strickland lost to Hannah Hopkins and Jessica Martinez at No. 2 action, 8-1.

In singles action the Warriors were also shutout, winning just three games in the four matches. Limestone was credited with victories at both No. 5 and 6 singles by default. Samantha Powell, Elizabeth Mulkey and Brooke Strickalnd all lost by scores of 6-1, 6-0 while Coker fell 6-0, 6-0.

The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, travelling to Lees-McRae for an 11 a.m. first serve.
