CLEMSON, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's tennis dropped a Conference Carolinas match to Barton on Friday afternoon, falling 9-0 to the Bulldogs.
The Warriors dropped both doubles matches to the Bulldogs by scores of 8-3 and 8-1 as Samantha Powell and Elizabeth Mulkey lost to Smiljana Kljajic and Alicia Lasry at the No. 1 position. Abbey Coker and Brooke Strickland fell to Dana Kelly and Meredith Pruden.
In singles action Kaycee Blackwell took Casey Utley to a tiebreak in the second set at No. 5 but ultimately lost the tiebreak 7-1. Utley took the flight 6-2, 7-6. In other action the Bulldogs flexed their muscle by not dropping more than three games in any flight.
The Warriors are back in action on Saturday by hosting Mount Olive at 11 a.m. in their final home match of the season.
