CLEMSON, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's tennis dropped their match on Tuesday afternoon to North Georgia by the score of 9-0.
The Warriors couldn't gain much traction in the match as the Night Hawks took both doubles matches 8-2 and 8-2. SWU dropped No. 3 doubles by default.
In singles play Samantha Powell put up the best fight but it wasn't enough, losing at No. 1 to Felicia Baratta 6-2, 6-1. There was not much luck the rest of the way as the team managed to win just two games in the final four flights. SWU played at No. 5 singles for the first time all year as Kaycee Blackwell was upended 6-1, 6-0 by Alexis Lee. That was the same score that Elizabeth Mulkey was on the wrong end of at No. 2 against Natalia Escobar. Both Abbey Coker and Brooke Strickland lost 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 and No. 4.
The Warriors continue their home stand on Friday and Saturday, first hosting Barton on Friday at 1 p.m.
