CLEMSON, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's tennis suffered an 8-1 setback at the hands of North Greenville on Tuesday afternoon at Nettles Park.
The Warriors picked up a win in singles action as Samantha Powell improved to 3-2 in league play and 3-6 overall with the 6-2, 6-3 victory over Rebecca Beacham. Powell teamed with Elizabeth Mulkey at the top doubles position but couldn't pull out the win, falling 8-5 to Beacham and Maria Vargas.
In other doubles action it was Abbey Coker and Brooke Strickland dropping a match to Ann Huxford and Harley Smith 8-2. The Crusaders were able to sweep No.2-No. 4 singles as they also picked up victories at No. 3 doubles, No. 5 singles and No. 6 singles by default.
The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday as they step out of conference play to host North Georgia at Nettles Park at 2 p.m.
