Women's Tennis Drops Match Against Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's tennis suffered a setback, 9-0, to Pfeiffer in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors took just one game over the Falcons in doubles action as Samantha Powell and Elizabeth Mulkey lost 8-1 to Taylor Lindsay and Valeira Mendoza at No. 1 doubles. Brooke Strickland made her season debut, teaming with Abbey Coker at No. 2 doubles but suffered an 8-0 defeat to Olivia Nelms and Hannah Watson.

SWU had similar trouble in singles action as Coker and Powell were the lone Warriors to take a game. Powell lost 6-0, 6-1 to Nelms in No. 1 singles action while Coker fell 6-0, 6-1 to Mendoza. Elizabeth Mulkey and Brooke Strickland both lost 6-0, 6-0.

The Warriors are scheduled to host four matches this week, the first against North Greenville on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
