Dobson Scores Season-High 32 Points in Warriors 98-75 Loss to Barton

WILSON, N.C. – DJ Dobson scored a season-high 32 points for Southern Wesleyan in its 98-75 loss to Barton.

Dobson led the team in scoring as he shot 11-for-15 from the field and 9-for-10 from the free throw line. He also led the team with seven rebounds. Jerome Wimphrie also scored in double-digits as he had 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists. Zach Watson scored nine points and had two steals.

The Bulldogs (5-3, 1-1 CC) started the game with a 14-0 run to put the Warriors (1-9, 0-3 CC) in an early hole. They cut the lead down to ten with a 35-31 run to close out the half. Dobson had 17 of his points in the first half and also grabbed three rebounds.

In the second half, Southern Wesleyan was not able to close the gap as they allowed Barton to shoot 51.5 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from behind the arc. Dobson scored 15 points and grabbed four rebounds. Wimphrie scored seven points and pulled in four rebounds.

The Warriors will next play Saturday Dec. 12 at home against Limestone College at 7:30 pm.
