CENTRAL, S.C. - The Southern Wesleyan volleyball team hosted Limestone on Saturday, the Warriors first game in six days, but the team showed no drop off from the time off as the team extended their winning streak to six games. The Warriors swept the Saints 25-13, 25-12, 25-19, their eighth 3-0 win of the season and fifth in six conference games. Sarah Beth Messer turned the tide in the first set, helping the Warriors to five consecutive points. With a 16-9 lead, the Warriors offense charged and put the game away. The second set, too, was back and fourth until serving swung the momentum in Southern Wesleyan's favor when Megan Widener went on a 9-0 run. Widener extended the lead from 10-9 to 18-9 before the Saints got a side out. The Saints would only get three more points that match as Paige O'Connor ended the match on a 5-0 serving run.

In the third set, the Warriors again took all momentum around the middle of the match. With the match tied 6-6 SWU took seven of the next 10 points. Limestone rallied for four points to tie the score at 13-13 before Sarah Beth Messer served the Warriors to seven straight points. The Saints would show some fight but SWU would take the set 25-19 and clinch the match.

"The girls worked very hard in practice this week and it translated into a great win tonight," said head coach Julia Reininga. "Paige (O'Connor) paced us with 15 kills and we were aggressive from the serving line with 12 aces. I'm looking forward to seeing some more great volleyball tomorrow."
