ANDERSON, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's tennis dropped their second match in two days on Saturday, falling to regional rival Anderson 9-0.
The Warriors struggled in the match against the Trojans picking up just two game wins on the day. AU's Mairead Cleary and Lindsay Gregory took No. 1 doubles by a score of 8-1 over SWU's Samantha Powell and Elizabeth Mulkey. In No. 2 doubles the Warriors duo of Abbey Coker and Kaycee Blackwell was swept 8-0 by Rebecca Bruning and Alexandra Ebner.
Singles action wasn't that kind to the Warriors either as three of the four matches 6-0, 6-0 as the home side flexed their muscle. Powell was the lone Warrior to take a game off of her opponent, falling 6-0, 6-1 to Bruning at the top singles spot.
The Warriors will have an extended break as they don't return to the court until Feb. 14 against Queens (N.C.) in Charlotte.
