Track competes in first outdoor meet in Florida

TAMPA, Fla. – Southern Wesleyan track competed in their first outdoor meet of the year at the University of South Florida Open.


For the women the 4x100 relay team and the 4x400 relay team came in 5th in their respective races. The 4x100 team posted a time of 50.17 while the 400 team came in with a time of 4:02.41. On the individual side Amber King carried her success from the indoor season into the outdoor season with a 5th place finish in the triple jump and an 8th place spot in the long jump.


For the men Jhante McMillan turned in a 4th place finish in the 400 hurdles with a time of 55.91. He also finished 14th in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.36. Keith Johnson was also 14th in the 400 meter with a time of 49.68.


The Warriors are back in action next weekend at the Florida State Relays in Tallahassee.
