Warriors win fifth straight, 83-81 over Brewton-Parker

MT. VERNON, Ga. – Southern Wesleyan men's basketball moved into a tie for second place in the SSAC East with an 83-81 victory over Brewton-Parker on Tuesday evening.


The Warriors are now tied with Thursday's opponent, Faulkner, at 9-7 in the SSAC, both have secured a place in the SSAC Tournament and will avoid the Play-In Round in the tournament.


On Tuesday it was Kenny Holmes leading the way with 24 points as the Warriors shot .526 from the field.  Cameron Solomon chipped in with 16 points and Terrance Hutchins added 15.  Dwayne Bryant nearly had a double-double with 11 points and seven rebounds.  SWU got a big contribution from Mike Lieberman who scored 11.


The Warriors did a lot of damage from the free throw line, making 19 of 25 from the line as they struggled from the three-point line, making just 4 of 13.
