Box Score DAYTON, Tenn. – Southern Wesleyan men's basketball tied a season-high with their third straight win on Saturday afternoon, defeating Tennessee Wesleyan 82-76 in the Bryan College Classic.
The Warriors (8-4) dominated the game throughout, trailing only briefly at 9-7 with 14:12 remaining in the first half. Cameron Solomon followed up his 30-point performance from Friday night with 24 more on Saturday, connecting on 8-of-16 from the floor. He also made 7-of-9 from the free throw line and pulled down six rebounds.
SWU pushed the lead out to 14 in the first half before taking a 42-30 lead into the break. The lead reached its zenith at 62-41 with 13:45 left to play but a 16-4 run inside the final four minutes made it a two point game with 14 seconds to play. Terrance Hutchins knocked down a pair of free throws and after a turnover Dwayne Bryant made the final margin six as time ran out.
Bryant finished with his seventh double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Overall five players finished in double figures for the Warriors as Jordan Wallace scored 14 including knocking down a pair of three-pointers. Mike Lieberman added 14 off the bench along with six rebounds and Kenny Holmes scored 12 and handed out eight assists.
Tennessee Wesleyan shot 51-percent from the floor and were led by Devante' Jenkins' 23 points. Dane Turnipseed added 21 and eight assists. The Warriors shot a lot better from the floor on Saturday, hitting on 46-percent but the difference came at the foul line as the Warriors connected on 17-of-23 while TWC made 8-of-14.
The Warriors will have a week off before hosting Limestone College on Saturday Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.
