Oker Hernández, originally from Quepos, Puntarenas, Costa Rica, joined the Warriors coaching staff in the fall of 2026.
Hernández joins the Warriors after spending 11 years coaching in various levels of soccer. After serving for five years as the Director of Coaching for Greenville Metro FC, he went to Bob Jones University where he helped coach the Bruins’ Women’s Soccer program to the NCCAA Division II championship. He coached with Bob Jones from 2023-25. He then went on to serve as coach GREEN Upstate High School where he led the boys’ varsity team to the Region 1A Championship in 2026.
Alongside his coaching experience, Hernández holds a USSF B License. He completed a Grassroots Master’s program in Mexico City for School Sports of Mexico. Hernández went on to gain his Master’s in High Performance, Scouting and Analysis. He was certified in Barcelona, Spain as a specialist in collective fundamentals through the Coach’s Voice school, and went on to become a specialist in creating talent, foundations of coaching diploma, training and developing the complete female players, and professional development certificate in collegiate coaching. Hernández also completed a tow month internship at Club Celtic UE (Catalan 4th Division) where he specialized in creating training content.
Throughout his athletic career, he played third-division soccer and second-division futsal, and along with competing in high-performance track and field.
