JBrockinton 2021

Joe Brockinton

Dr. Joe Brockinton joined the Southern Wesleyan Athletics staff as the Assistant Coach for Men's and Women's Tennis before transitioning to the head coach position in the Fall of 2021.

Brockinton spent the 36 years working with students at two Christ-centered colleges.  He retired in 2019 after serving as the vice president for Student Life at Southern Wesleyan University for 13 years.  He played four years of tennis at Asbury University (1971-74) and has served as a volunteer coach at SWU for the past two years.  Additionally, he coached cross-country and track at both the high school and college levels for a total of twelve years.

He and his wife, Willa, have two grown children, a daughter-in-law, two granddaughters and three grandsons.  He is active in his church, loves to run and play tennis, and is an avid fan of college athletics.

Joe has a passion to see students grow and mature, not only as students but in every aspect of their lives.  His entire career has been dedicated to that passion.
