- Attended Dominion Christian School where he graduated in 2023
- Recorded a time of 54.63 in the 400 meters during his senior season
- In his junior season, was a member of the 4x100 meter relay team that set a school record and qualified for Nike Nationals with a time of 43.23
- As a sophomore, ran the 200 meters in 24.63

- Born on May 14th, 2004 to Jim and Shelly Powell
- His brother, Owen Powell, played soccer at TWU from 2017-19
- Majoring in chemistry with a concentration in criminal justice
What are your goals for the upcoming season?Â
"My goals are for general improvement. I'm looking to beat my PR's that in the 400m, 200m and 400mh."
What is your favorite thing about SWU?Â
"Athletics. I didn't know much about the school, but I was interested in the coach's coaching style."
What is your favorite thing about SWU?
"My Chemistry professor. She makes my Organic Chemistry class understandable."
Why is your sport important to you? Â
"I've been running it for years now, and throughout the years I've developed my character and grown as a person."
Who is your greatest influence in life? Why?
"My mom. I always call here for advice and she never fails. She is always there for me, so is my dad. I love them both."
Where do you want to be in five years?
"Hopefully, in a career related to chemistry and still running."
Do you have a nickname? How did you get it?
"Eli. It's just a shorter version of my name that I've adopted as my real name."
