What are your goals for the upcoming season?Â
"My upcoming goals for this season are to really let my experience show and be as a leader on the field. I think my professionalism and poise on the mound will help the rest of the team play relaxed and help lead us to wins. Another goal is to make the conference tournament. This task will be a challenge as another team has been added to our conference this year, but I think we have the team to do it."
Why did you choose SWU?Â
"Coming from a university where the baseball team was very family-like, I was looking to find another team that was similar. Immediately, I got a feeling from Coach Robinson that he wants all of his players to not only be great baseball players, but be great men and he was going to help us get there."
What is your favorite thing about SWU?Â
"My favorite thing about SWU is definitely the player led bible studies. I have really enjoyed learning and growing my faith with my team members."Â
Why is your sport important to you?Â
"Baseball for me is an escape. No matter what I have going on outside of baseball, as soon as I step on the field for a practice or game nothing else matters."

"My best friend who is also my brother, Eric. Not only has he taught me nearly everything I know about baseball, he has also taught me many valuable lessons in life. He helps me stay level headed through the ups and downs of life and baseball."
Where do you want to be in 5 years?Â
"I hope to be a pitching coach at a college university helping players chase their dreams of college baseball like I am now."
Do you have a nickname? What is it?Â
"Voll shortened from Vollmert."
How did you get your nickname?Â
"Nick has seemed to be a very popular name on all of my baseball teams, so my last name was shortened."
