Jordan Miller, a native of Winter Springs, FL. He is in his second year as Hitting Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Southern Wesleyan University.
Miller joins the Warriors after coaching at his alma mater USC Upstate. Under Head Coach Mike McGuire, Miller was the Director of Player Development. Where he assisted with offensive analytics and defensive positioning, was the alumni liaison and camp coordinator. Upstate finished the season with a 35-22 record, while finishing 2nd regular season in the Big South. The Spartans hit .296 as a team while averaging over 7 runs a game.
Before his tender at USC Upstate, Jordan Miller spent a season with the James Madison Dukes as an Assistant Coach. His duties included, assisting with the offense and outfield development while heading the managers and analytics team. Miller was also in charge of all camp operations at JMU. In a Covid ridden season, the Dukes hit .28 with a slugging % of .432 in only 28 games.
Miller started his college coaching career at Eastern Mennonite University, where he served as the Hitting Coach. Before Covid shut down the 2020 season, the Royals were off to a historic start with a record of 11-8. The Mennonite offense was slashing .290 with 31 stolen bases in just 19 games.
Prior to his college coaching career, Miller spend one summer coaching for the Grand Lake Mainers in the Great Lakes Collegiate League. He also spent two season at Mauldin High School (SC), where he was in charge of the offense. Helping the Mavs boost their Batting Average from .240 to .320 in year one. By year two, the Mauldin offense saw improvements in Stolen Bases, Triples and Home Runs.
Jordan Miller has coached several players who have moved onto the professional players in his short coaching career. The most notable is Chase DeLauter who was selected in the 1st round, 16th overall by the Cleveland Guardians in the 2022 MLB Draft. Other players include Devin Buckner, Noah Myers, and Damon Maynard who are playing Independent League baseball.
