Spartanburg, SC – Southern Wesleyan was led by senior Ryan Hunter in their first cross country race of the season on Friday evening.

How It Happened

Senior Ryan Hunter led the whole field in the Eyeopener XC Invite on Friday evening.  His time of 24:37.9 bested all, including multiple Division I runners, and secured him a first place finish in the race.  The Warriors second finisher in the race was Mayson Harward.  Harward took 105th place with a time of 29:19.2.

Alex Howerton was the next Warrior to finish.  Howerton crossed the finish line in 31:25.1 to put him in 126th place.  Right on his heels, freshman Braeden Caldwell took 127th with a time of 31:38.8.  Justin South wrapped up the field for the Warriors as he took 136th place with a time of 33:44.8.

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will compete in Central, SC on September 19 as they host their home race in the Susan Rouse Invite.  They will then travel to Huntsville, AL to take part in the Twilight at John Hunt on September 25.
