How It Happened

The Flames charged out of the gate as, just seconds into the game, Emma Bailey got the ball into the cage.  They extended their lead to 3-0 as Kylee Kangus and Lanie Carroll each scored.  Fianna Steves won the next draw control and the Warriors looked to get the ball into the cage, but Lee got the ball away and were able to go on the offensive once again as Kaitlyn Lawrence scored the Flames fourth goal of the quarter.  Caelyn Little got the ball down the field and sent the ball toward the cage, but Savannah Weisman knocked the ball away to keep the Warriors off the board.  Lee persisted with their attacks as they scored six more times in the first quarter to force a running clock.

Ella McCowen won the opening draw of the second quarter, but Stella Starosciak was able to cause the Warriors to turn the ball over to put the Flames back in control.  Abby Davidheiser took control and got the ball into the cage to extend Lee's lead to 11.  The Flames went on the attack once again, but Ava Lombardi was there to save the attack made by Tara Oloski.  Lee continued their attacks as both Kaitlyn Lawrence and Jess Ryan scored.  The Flames led the Warriors 16-0 at halftime.

The Flames continued their attacks in the third quarter as Rosali Colangelo scored off a pass from Emma Bailey.  Southern Wesleyan continued to look for their first goal of the game as Charlotte Barnette took a shot on the cage.  However, Sydney Mayo was able to save Barnette's attack on the cage.  Bailey scored her third goal of the game to put Lee's lead up to eighteen with just over six minutes left in the third quarter.

Lee would not relent as Lily Tomczik scored back-to-back goals for the Flames.  The Flames pressed on as Rosali Colangelo scored once again.  Southern Wesleyan continued to look for their first goal of the evening as Ella McCowen took a free position shot.  However, Sydney Mayo continued to stand strong in the cage to prevent the Warriors from getting onto the board.  The Flames went on to win the game in a 25-0 final score.
