Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan swept past Lincoln Memorial on Saturday afternoon. After claiming game one in a 10-0 final over five innings, the Warriors took game two in a 2-1 final.
The Warriors had nine hits in their first game of the day against the Railsplitters. Both Rebecca Lamb and Abby Schreiner had two hits in the series opener. Both Schreiner's hits came in the form of doubles. The other double of the game came off the bat of Megan Ware. The Warriors walked twice, and were hit by pitches two times. Chloe Smith, Abby Lawson and Riley Brown each stole bases. Olivia Haag started the game in the circle and pitch four innings while striking out four batters to pick up her third win of the season. Harley Hoffman made her debut in the circle and struck out one batter during the one inning she pitched.
Southern Wesleyan had five hits in the second game of the double header. Chloe Smith doubled and Olivia Haag had a triple. Abby Lawson was the lone Warrior to walk and Riley Brown picked up another steal. Emily Collins pitched a complete game in the circle for the Warriors and struck out four batters.

How It Happened
Game One
Southern Wesleyan came out swinging in the series opener on Saturday. Maddie Crouch led off the bottom of the first inning by hitting a single up the middle. Crouch advanced to second as Reagan Fulcher singled. Rebecca Lamb was the third Warrior in as many batters with a single to load up the bases. With one out, Olivia Haag walked in the Warriors first run of the inning. Abby Lawson hit into a fielder's choice that took Haag off the bases, but brought Fulcher in to score. With two on, Abby Schreiner drilled the ball down the left field line for a double that cleared the bases and gave the Warriors a 4-0 run lead over Lincoln Memorial.
The Warriors were not down as they brought in a couple more runs in the bottom of the second inning. With two outs, Regan Fulcher reached first on an error by the Railsplitters short stop. Rebecca Lamb hit a single down the left field line to allow Fulcher to advance to second. With two on, Chloe Smith hit a single down the right field line to bring Fulcher in to score. As Smith attempted to steal second base, the Lincoln Memorial catcher looked to gun her down, but she threw the ball into center field to allow Lamb to score and give the Warriors a 6-0 run lead.
Southern Wesleyan continued to extend on their lead in the third inning. Abby Lawson walked and then immediately stole second base. Abby Schriener collected her second double of the afternoon as she sent the ball into center field. Lawson came in to score on the play to extend the Warriors lead to seven. With Schreiner at second base, Megan Ware hit a double into left center field to bring Schreiner in to score. Riley Brown laid down a bunt single to allow Ware to advance to third. Brown then stole second to put both runners in scoring position. A wild pitch allowed Ware to come in to score and put Brown at third. With one out, Regan Fulcher hit a sacrifice fly into right field to bring Brown in to score and give the Warriors a 10-0 run victory over Lincoln Memorial.
Game Two
Lincoln Memorial were first on the board as in the top of the first inning a single by Bogoski allowed Vivrette to come in to score.
The Railsplitters kept the Warriors off the board until the bottom of the fourth inning. With one out, Chloe Smith hit a double into right center field. Olivia Haag came up to the plate and sent the ball into right center field for a triple that allowed Smith to come in to score. A single by Abby Lawson brought Haag across home plate to give the Warriors a 2-1 run victory over Lincoln Memorial.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will hit the road to Hickory, NC on February 28 as they take on the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears. They will then return to Varsity Field on March 3 as they open up Conference Carolinas action against the Emmanuel Lions. On March 5, the Warriors will host the Mars Hill Lions.
