Tigerville, SC – Southern Wesleyan split the final two games of the series against North Greenville on Saturday. After claiming game one in a 3-2 final, the Warriors fell in game two 4-2.
The Warriors picked up six hits in the game one victory over the Trailblazers. Both Marty Grisso and Luke Taylor doubled. Taylor led the team with two of the three RBIs. The other RBI of the game came off the bat of Gavin Mitchell. Southern Wesleyan walked twice and Ethan Jarvis stole a base. Luke Arvantides started the game on the mound and pitched five innings while striking out two batters. Nick Gonsalves finished up the game for the Warriors and struck out one in the two innings he pitched.
Southern Wesleyan recorded seven hits in game two of the afternoon. Both Jarrett Whitley and Samuel Simonds had two hits. Whitley hit a home run and Simonds had a double. Whitley had both RBIs of the game for the Warriors. The Warriors turned two double plays during the game. Logan Brazell started the final game of the series and struck out four batters in five innings. Garrett Swink pitched the remaining three innings and struck out two batters.

How It Happened
Game One
The Trailblazers took the first run of the game as a single off the bat of Foulks brought Blomquist in to score to give North Greenville a 1-0 run lead.
Southern Wesleyan fought back in the sixth inning. With two outs, Marty Grisso hit a double to right center field. The Trailblazers then intentionally walked Cam Mitchem to bring Luke Taylor up to the plate. Taylor sent the ball down the right field line for a bases clearing double to give the Warriors a 2-1 run lead.
The Warriors lead was short lived as in the bottom of the inning, Blomquist hit a single through the right side to bring Shaw in to score and tie the game up.
Southern Wesleyan would not back down as Samuel Simonds reached on an error to start the seventh inning. Caide Linker came in to pinch hit and reached on a fielder's choice that took Simonds off the bases. Ethan Jarvis came in to pinch run for Linker and then stole second base. With Jarvis in scoring position, Gavin Mitchell hit a single to left center field to allow Jarvis to come in to score the Warriors third run of the game. The Warriors went on to claim game one in a 3-2 final.
Game Two
The Trailblazers were the first on the board in game two of the afternoon as a double by Albritton allowed both Shaw and Powell to come in to score.
Southern Wesleyan battled back in the seventh inning. Luke Taylor took first base to lead off the inning off a twelve pitch walk. Jarrett Whitley came up to the plate and hit the ball over the left field fence for a two run blast to tie the game up 2-2.
However, after coming back from a lightning delay in the ninth, the Trailblazers got a runner on and then Powell hit a two-run home run to give the Trailblazers a 4-2 run victory.
