Central, SC - Southern Wesleyan is excited to announce senior Avery Mercer of Softball as this week's Mug Shot Coffee Athlete of the Week.

Mercer, a senior out of Watkinsville, GA, led the team as she went 9-for-12 at the plate in the four games the Warriors played last week.

Against Erskine on April 9, the first baseman went 3-for-3 in game one including hitting her first double of the afternoon.  Mercer came in to score three times and had one RBI during the first game of the day.  She then picked up two more hits in game two with another double.

She continued to be aggressive at the plate in the series against Young Harris on April 12.  In the game one loss, Mercer went 2-for-2 and came in to score two runs for the Warriors.  One of her hits included a two-run home run.  Mercer went 3-for-3 in game two and came in to score one time.  She also stole one base during the series.
