How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan charged out of the gate as Peyton Looky sunk a three pointer off a pass from Taylin Smith.  Seconds later, Looky stole the ball away from the Bruins and sent it down the court to DeYana Hayes who laid it up.  Smith stepped beyond the arc and hit a three pointer, but the Bruins countered with a three of their own.  Back-to-back threes by Rahkhia Mack allowed the Warriors to extend their lead to eleven.  Bob Jones came back to within eight on a three pointer by Faith McClary.  The Warriors regained their double-digit advantage on layups by Jordan Race and Asia Pearley.

Bob Jones kicked off the second quarter with a three pointer by Caitlyn Dickerson.  Peyton Looky passed the ball under the basket to Alexis Glover who laid it up to put the Warriors on top 36-14.  Makayla Raines fired off a three pointer from beyond the arc, but the Bruins answered with a three pointer by Jenna Brooks.  Rahkhia Mack knocked down another three pointer to extend Southern Wesleyan's lead to twenty-four.  Southern Wesleyan pushed on as Lexie Ransom sunk a three.  In the final seconds of the quarter, Peyton Looky hit a three pointer to give the Warriors a 56-25 point lead going into halftime.

The Warriors maintained the intensity in the third quarter as layups by Alexis Glover extended their lead to thirty-eight.  Keely Price knocked down a three for the Bruins, but the Warriors would not relent on their attacks.  Back-to-back baskets by Asia Pearley and Dynasty Shegog allowed the Warriors to maintain their thirty-nine point lead.  With just over five minutes on the clock, Lexie Ransom put up another three pointer.  Jordan Race sunk back-to-back three pointers, but the Bruins answered with a three out of the hands of Jenna Brooks.

A foul early in the final quarter allowed Taylin Smith to go to the charity stripe.  Smith hit both her shots.  The Warriors would not back down as Alexis Glover put up a couple more layups to extend Southern Wesleyan's lead to fifty.  Kaliah Kendrick stepped beyond the arc to collect a pass from Rahkhia Mack before firing off a three pointer.  Fouls by the Warriors allowed Diamynd Buckson and Faith Hayward to go to the free throw line for the Bruins.  However, Southern Wesleyan walked away with a 102-52 point victory.
